The Front Window is Shipped ... Back

The window was delivered last Wednesday and let's just say we weren't too happy with the delivery man.  We were even less happy with him when we opened up the crate on Thursday and found out the window was broken.

Do you think maybe they dropped the crate?

The wonderful people at the stained glass company arranged to have it picked up and will replace all the broken glass.  They were just as upset/disappointed as us.

The Front Window is Shipped

We wanted to do something special for the front window.  After going through several options, we decided to go with stain glass.  It shipped from San Diego on Friday.  Looks like it came out pretty nice.  The pattern is based on the "Tree of Life" window at the Frank Lloyd Wright Martin House (no relation).

One of the cats decided to leave her imprint in the house forever by taking a little stroll across the footer inside the house.
There was no work done last Thursday or Friday as the contractor (Bo-Bud) prepared to put the floor joists in and take off the roof this week

Getting This Blog Up To Date

Actually started about 10 days ago, but didn't decide to do a blog until this past weekend.  First thing to go up was the silt fence.

That's Julie's friend Sammy.

We had the silt fence up for a couple of days before the destruction and digging began last week.   First to go was the front stoop and then the digging began both outside and in.
Those 2 holes in the inside are supposed to be 12" footers for 2 posts that will hold the 2nd story up.  They ended up being 4 foot footers due to poor soil.

WE'RE FINALLY GETTING STARTED!!!

We're putting a 2nd story addition on our house.  Over the next several months I will be updating our progress as we move from 3 bedrooms/3 baths to 5 bedrooms/5 baths (and a dining room).
